OVERVIEW of  LEADING LATINX  & HEALTH

HEALTH

The Leading LatinX Foundation (TLLF) was founded during one of the most vulnerable times in history, The COVID-19 Pandemic of 2021. As the pandemic shipped through the globe, the USA was experiencing an in hospital death rate that was beyond imaginable. And one of the ethnicities most impacted by COVID-19 were the LatinX population.  LatinX  have historically been disproportionally affected by many health problems, COVID-19 would go down in history as one of the worst, with almost three times as many cases among LatinX than their counterparts, and almost 5times higher hospitalisation rate compared to whites.

LatinX are the fastest growing ethnic group in the USA and yet they lack poor access to health.

One in every two Latinwill develop diabetes over their lifetime. LatinX are often plagued by diabetes diagnosis and more often than not develop depressive symptoms. Mental Health in embedded in the fabric of society irrespective of ethnic background, colour or gender. This is one of the many reasons why TLLF designs, implements, and executes health programs that drive social impact in the USA, Europe and Latin America. TLLF also provides mentoring and training programs for LatinX women and young girls in health.

TLLF Health Edit: The trending health topics of 2023 affecting us from all corners of the world continue to be Mental Health, Diabetes, Heart Disease and Domestic Violence. Raising awareness on the topics of Gender based Violence and Access to Medicines as a basic human right is one of our health edit topic that drives the work that we do in Health.
